It is time to get canna lilies started back into growth, as long as you can provide some heat. Just bringing them inside the house should be enough. Split the plants then repot into the smallest pot they can go into. Water a little then increase as the plants grow.
Get peonies planted outside now too. Do not plant them too deep, the top of the root should be no more than 2.5cm deep. Choose a position that receives sun for at least half the day.
Spruce up plants that are potted an year round. Tidy up any damaged stems and top dress - remove the top couple of centimetres of soil, add a slow release fertiliser and cover with fresh compost. This will help rejuvenate the tired soil in the pot.
