Gardening Jobs for this week

As we are now getting out into our gardens and tidying up after the Winter it is a good time to feed the permanent planting. It is best to use organic fertilisers such as blood, fish and bone, or chicken pellets. These will release their nutrient slowly and help the shrubs with growth and flowers.

Whilst tidying in our gardens it is a good time to cut back our tall grasses so that we can enjoy the fresh new growth through the spring. Evergreen grasses such as Carex, Festuca, and Stipa Tenuissima don’t need to be cut back, but just a tidy up, removing old foliage at the base and comb through the clump to remove dead leaves.
